1. Apple Chips

The perfect quick and easy back-to-school snack, these apple chips are a healthy treat to make in the air fryer!

Ingredients

  • Apples
  • Cinnamon, ground

Directions

  1. Thinly slice the apples, across the core, so that they are about ¼ thick.
  2. Place the slices in the air fryer in a single layer and sprinkle with cinnamon.
  3. Air fry at 350º F for about 4-5 minutes, remove and flip, and cook for another 4-5 minutes.
  4. Leave the chips to cool in the air fryer for about 5 minutes, then enjoy!

air fryer fried okra

2. Fried Okra

For when you’re craving something savory and need a quick fix, this air fryer recipe is hard to beat!

Ingredients

  • ½ cup fine yellow cornmeal
  • ¼ cup flour
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons water
  • 8 ounces fresh okra, cut into ½-inch rounds
  • Olive oil or cooking spray

Directions

  1. In a small bowl, combine the cornmeal, flour, garlic powder, paprika, and salt.
  2. In a separate, larger bowl, whisk together the egg and water to combine.
  3. After the okra has been sliced into rounds, coat the rounds in the wet egg mixture, letting the excess dip off. Then, toss the okra in the cornmeal mixture until it is evenly coated before transferring to an oiled air fryer basket. Repeat until all of the okra is battered and avoid crowding the pieces (you may have to cook in batches).
  4. Cook the okra at 400º F for 6-7 minutes. Remove the basket, toss the pieces to turn, and spray a coating of cooking spray before returning to the air fryer to cook for another 6-7 minutes at the same temperature. If using olive oil instead of cooking spray, add a small amount to the basket while tossing to re-coat the okra before cooking again.
  5. Let cool for a few minutes and enjoy!
